So… I hate January 1st New Year resolutions! I have participated in the tradition for many years, doing things like joining the gym, eating right, reading more, and pledging to stop cussing are among a few. Although society says that the new year is January 1st; I start my new year on my birthday September 1st! Over the last several years I have set both personal and professional goals and have actually accomplished them when focusing on my birthday being my new year.
For the entire month of September, I take time to evaluate where I have been and where I want to go. One of the things I will focus on this new year is expanding my voice. I am realizing that I have a lot of knowledge and a lot to say. The funny thing is people enjoy hearing me… who knew!
If your new year starts on January 1st or on another personally set day; I encourage you to set responsible goals for yourself and put in the work!
